Principal
For over 20 years, Bill has been delivering innovative and integrated communication strategies, impactful writing and a competitive determination to succeed. His experience in leadership roles spans the public, private and non-profit sectors, and has included stints in Silicon Valley, Sacramento and the Monterey Bay Area. Bill uniquely possesses a high degree of tolerance for ambiguity, a clear strategic vision and an obsessive level of attention to detail – a combination that yields creative, award-winning campaigns for clients.

Paula Miller Maxfield
Principal
Paula is a strategic communications expert with 20 years of agency experience executing high-impact, results-driven, integrated public relations campaigns. Career badges of honor include a company launch in Times Square, press and analyst tours on both coasts, a press conference at the beach, more trade shows than she can count and special event promotion that was once labeled “excessive publicity.” No matter the challenge, Paula leverages her skills to maximize visibility for each client’s unique goals.

Jennifer Murray
Senior Director
Jennifer is an award-winning writer, editor and multimedia journalist. A communications pro with more than a decade of experience crafting stories and managing content distribution in both online and traditional formats, Jennifer keeps her finger on the pulse of emerging communication channels. Jennifer also delivers as a stellar event planner, known for her work on the Santa Cruz Triathlon and Mole & Mariachi Festival.

Alexandra Baker
Account Manager
Alexandra approaches her work at Miller Maxfield with a passion to serve the community and enthusiasm to share clients' stories. In her role, she is responsible for creating engaging content and executing campaigns that reach unique audiences. Alexandra’s background includes experience with social media marketing, public relations, fundraising and event management. Previously, she worked in fundraising and development for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County and explored a career in the local wine industry. A Santa Cruz native, Alexandra can be found spending time with family, taking bike rides along local trails and enjoying girls’ nights at the beach.

Calvin Men
Community Engagement Manager
Calvin Men is a writer, editor and content strategist with a knack for summarizing complex topics into relatable and impactful explanations. He brings more than a decade of communications work with him, including years of experience as a journalist and time leading programs for Silicon Valley tech giants. That combination of journalism and communication strategy enables Calvin to work through ambiguity and help clients stay focused throughout any project.

Natasha Del Rio
Creative Services Manager
Natasha Del Rio is an adept graphic designer with experience working with a broad set of organizations from corporate brands to small businesses. Natasha’s artistic sensibilities are best described as modern and whimsical. With a wide-ranging skillset including traditional, digital and interactive media, Natasha delivers on-brand designs across different elements. While not glued to a screen, you can find Natasha exploring town on her eBike or adventuring with her husband and puppy Tycho!

Connor Alexander
Content Creator
Connor is a UC Santa Cruz graduate with a creative sensibility stemming from his studies in art. His experience spans graphic design, social media marketing, content management, outreach, and website design. He likes to approach his work with a sense of humor and is obsessed with organizing things. When not at work, you can find him indulging in his nerdiness by playing Dungeons and Dragons, painting, cooking, and letting his cat Noodle know what a good baby she is.

Georgann Scally
Special Projects
Georgann leverages years of experience as an executive at Visa International to deliver essential project coordination, finance administration, account logistics and strategic planning for Miller Maxfield. Georgann is a longtime resident of Santa Cruz County, having started her career at County Bank & Trust. In her spare time, Georgann invests significant volunteer time into protecting our local parks and beaches, and enjoys camping with her husband and Stanley, their cat.

Jill Nelson
Graphic Designer
For more than 20 years Jill has used her graphic design talents to help clients tell their stories. Her design work is driven by a passion to help our clients succeed – informing, inspiring and captivating audiences throughout the community. Jill’s expertise includes brand identity development, print collateral and digital design. Her clear minimalist designs are crisp, easy to digest and have become a trademark of her aesthetic. When not hard at work, Jill enjoys designing stationery, playing frisbee with her dog Ollie and baking sweet treats.

Tracy Smith
Graphic Designer
Tracy is a visual and strategic communications pro who thrives on crafting high level creative. Her career took off while working on the Patagonia Clothing Catalog, which gave Tracy a deep appreciation for how the art of story telling and visuals work together. Tracy believes that ethos, combined with an environmental message, provides a recipe that generates community optimism and action. A self-professed “farmer’s market nerd” and visual junkie, you might see her with her nose in a new cookbook full of beautiful images or busy shooting some creative images of her own.
